The counter is reset. Day one is already on the move and only three hundred sixty-four wake ups and once again the grocery store parking lots will be full, and the aisles will be filled with the not so cheerful faces scurrying down the aisles for the last cans of cranberry sauce, fried onion rings and the infamous brown and serve rolls.
Cashiers and store clerks constantly checking their smart phones to see if the second hand is any closer to closing time. I mean after all it is, “Thanksgiving Day”, and although no one is really emanating or expressing their gratefulness for all those who battled their way through three snoozes but yet eventually crawled their way to the john, slammed down a cup of joe and then reported promptly to their battle stations to cheerfully greet all those that swore that this year they would not wait till the last minute to procure their arsenal of...

Am I a Thermostat?
When I awoke this morning, it was a bit chilly in the house. In preparation for my morning ritual it was actually way too cold for this N’awlins boy. Sixty-Six is a very comfortable setting whilst I am cuddled up next to the warmth of my helpmate with our down comforter draped over me.
But to sit at my desk and go through my Miracle Morning life S.A.V.E.R.S., a nice 70-degree spring day climate is more my wheelhouse. I re:Set the thermostat to my liking and felt the warm blast of air hit me in the face as I walked into the kitchen to say good morning to Ms. Keurig and introduce her to my selection of Joe to start the day. Sipping my coffee on the way to my morning secret place, a strong feeling of pleasure enveloped me.
I sat down and got really comfortable, nice and cozy in my arm-less chair, and there in that warm space illuminated by my dollar store...

Dearly beloved we are gathered here today to pay our respects to a brave, wonderful, courageous man. A man who on countless occasions stared fear straight to the ground. A man who would go to the greatest of lengths. No price was too high for him to pay in order to complete the mission, to meet his objective, even to include his very own life. And unfortunately, this last feat did that very thing. All who know Barry were well aware that he lived to be high on the tight wire.

The sound of the weatherman’s voice could be distinctly heard coming from dads’ old radio. One of his many prized possessions. Yeah, you know the one with the broken antennae and the tip wrapped in black electric tape.
