Do You Struggle Understanding Gods Word?

I don't know about you, but there are oftentimes that as I sit to read the word, and as I do, I just draw a blank? 🤷‍♂️

I must admit, that it really frustrates me at times because I truly desire to understand and get the deeper meaning of what God is saying.

I am, however, keenly aware that all revelation comes from Holy Spirit, not from my ability to comprehend. I believe that I have a pretty good grasp on the difference between the Logos and Rhema word of God.

As I pondered this morning after having one of those , "I didn't understand anything I just read", moments, I sensed Holy Spirit ask me if I understood what protein and enzymes and all the different nutrients found in what I eat do in my body? How they are converted , assimilated and digested?

I just chuckled inside and thought about how to answer Him?

It was a simple "NO." I mean, I so have some idea of what occurs when I eat, but I don’t typically ever feel uncomfortable that I may have not understood what takes place when I bite into a juicy piece of flank steak.

He then began to feed me, what I often refer to as a "three-week course in about 30 seconds", or less! It's like an “Evelyn Woods", course on steroids.

I trust that many of you can relate.

I have made it a practice to read the word of God daily for quite some time and yes, I miss a day or three here and there, but I don't get unraveled.

But as I mentioned earlier, I so often walk away not really having understood a thing.

Holy Spirit revealed to me today something that perhaps many of you are already aware of, and it may seem like Bible 101, but for me, it got my tail wagging pretty aggressively today!

He made it very clear to me that I don't have to understand it! I just have to read it!

So, all of the chapters and verses that I have read over the years, that at the moment left me feeling void of any understanding, were not in vain! That is great news!

By just reading it, it went in and did exactly what is was designed to do!

"umm it’s the bread of life, Robert" yeah, I get it, I mean I thought I did. I just really get it a BIGGER level today.

I love when God speaks to me, loud and clear. When His word just comes alive and practically jumps off the pages.

I‘ve had countless moments where He has rocked my world with jaw-dropping revelation, but I just wanted to share this experience with you, and encourage you today in the event that you have found yourself in this place where you may have walked away having zero understanding of the word, and just felt like it was completely incomprehensible.

Rest assured that every time that your eyes meet Gods word, it’s too late!

In other words, you've ingested a photo or video of His word and it will go in and do the work it was set out to do within you. “His word does not return void”.

I am pretty confident that is  true, at least in my life because there are areas in my life that have been renewed, especially over the last two years, that in my deep I know without a shadow of a doubt, that it is only as a result of the inner-workings of the Word. The incarnate Jesus.

He is truly the Bread of Life.
